In this painting, I work intuitively, building the surface through layered texture and broken colour. I begin with deeper blues and greens to establish a sense of quiet weight, then gradually introduce warmth, allowing light to emerge across the canvas in a soft diagonal movement.
Rather than depicting a literal landscape, I aim to capture an emotional atmosphere — the moment when heaviness begins to lift. The light is not dramatic or sudden; it returns gently, moving through the textured blooms and dissolving forms.
For me, this piece reflects healing as a gradual process. The darker layers remain visible beneath the warmth, reminding us that hope does not erase the past — it rises through it.
