In Dappled Wildness, I explore the untamed beauty of nature and the fleeting play of light as it filters through a landscape left to grow freely. Deep blues and lush greens intertwine with warm ochres, russet reds and soft violets, creating a tapestry of colour, movement and texture.
Working intuitively with layers of oil paint and expressive palette knife marks, I allow forms to emerge, dissolve and overlap, suggesting wildflowers, tangled foliage and glimpses of sunlight without defining them.
There is a beautiful tension between the abundance of nature and the quiet spaces where light finds its way through. I wanted to capture that sense of being immersed in a wild, secret garden, where nothing is carefully arranged, yet everything seems to belong.
