In Paysage de Rêve Bleu (Blue Dreamscape), I was chasing the sensation of total immersion—the feeling of losing oneself in the vastness of a summer sky reflecting off a field in bloom. For me, this painting is an emotional sanctuary. I used my palette knife to build up a vibrant, almost electric field of teals, cobalts, and cerulean, layering them until the texture felt like a physical heartbeat.
As I worked, I felt a sense of boundless freedom. I wanted to capture the light not as it looks, but as it feels when it breaks through the clouds and touches the earth. There is a specific energy in these blues—a mix of deep tranquility and a sudden, sharp joy. It is my interpretation of a dream where the horizon doesn't end, but simply opens up into something new.
