This painting came from a place of pure joy and presence. I didn’t plan it — I just followed the feeling. Layer by layer, I built it up with a palette knife, letting colours blend and collide in their own way. The thick textures, the movement, the light — they all seemed to take on a life of their own.
For me, « Happiness is an Inside Job « is a reminder that peace and joy don’t come from what’s happening around us, but from how we feel inside. When I paint, I try to connect to that quiet, happy space within — and this piece is what it looks like when that feeling spills out onto the canvas.
The mix of blues, greens, and warm oranges feels like sunlight filtering through trees — calm, hopeful, alive. I hope when you look at it, you can feel some of that same inner happiness too.
