In Summer Rays, I wanted to bottle the heat and the blinding brilliance of a Provence afternoon. This painting is an explosion of energy—a sun-drenched dance of oranges, yellows, and fiery ochres set against a deep, mossy green that grounds the work.
I applied the paint with a rapid, rhythmic palette knife technique, building up a high-relief texture that feels as if the flowers are reaching out toward the sun. It is a work designed to radiate warmth; it’s about that feeling of the sun on your skin and the vibrant, unapologetic abundance of life in midsummer.
I hope that when you look at this piece, you feel a surge of optimism and the raw, beautiful intensity of a world in full bloom.
