In Strength in Fragility, I wanted to capture the delicate balance between vulnerability and endurance. This piece is an exploration of how the most sensitive things in nature—and in ourselves—often possess the greatest resilience. I worked with a serene palette of misty whites, soft lavenders, and muted earth tones, allowing the colours to drift across the canvas like a fleeting thought.
Using my palette knife, I sculpted the acrylics into fine, intricate textures that mimic the skeletal grace of winter branches or the delicate veins of a petal. As I painted, I felt a deep sense of stillness. I wanted to create a composition that feels as though it is 'growing' upward, reaching for the light while remaining firmly rooted. This work is my interpretation of the quiet power found in softness
