In Soothes the Soul, I wanted to capture that precise moment of daybreak where the world is bathed in a warm, golden haze. This painting is an interpretation of the profound peace that comes from a quiet morning—a time when the light feels like a promise.
I worked with a palette of dusty lavenders, soft mauves, and a glowing amber horizon to create a sense of infinite distance and calm.
As I worked with my palette knife, my strokes became more rhythmic and horizontal, mimicking the gentle layering of the atmosphere. I built up a rich, tactile impasto in the foreground to represent the wild, tangled beauty of a meadow waking up. For me, this piece is about the restorative power of nature; it is a visual exhale.
