With L'heure de Minuit (The Midnight Hour), I wanted to immerse myself in the profound silence of the night. There is a specific kind of magic that happens when the world falls away and everything is bathed in shades of sapphire, cobalt, and indigo. For me, this piece represents that threshold between the conscious and the dream world.
I used my palette knife to build an expansive, rhythmic field of texture, allowing the cool blues to layer over one another like whispers in the dark.
As I painted, I felt a deep sense of introspection—it was less about seeing a landscape and more about feeling the weight and the peace of the shadows. I hope that when you stand before this work, you feel that same cool, quiet embrace of the night.
