In Garden of Love, I wanted to explore the idea of love as a living, breathing ecosystem—something that requires time, patience, and deep roots to flourish. While many associate love with reds and pinks, I see it as a lush, verdant sanctuary. This painting is an interpretation of that growth, dominated by rich, mossy greens, deep emeralds, and the vibrant vitality of new leaves.
As I worked with my palette knife, I felt a profound sense of peace. I built up a dense, layered impasto of greens to represent the strength and stability of a lasting connection, allowing small, delicate highlights of white and soft yellow to peek through like dappled sunlight.
For me, this piece is about the quiet, sustaining energy of the earth itself.
