In Fun & Frolick, I wanted to strip away the weight of the world and return to a state of pure, childlike play.
For me, this painting is a physical expression of lightness—an interpretation of those rare moments where everything feels effortless and airy. I chose a palette of seafoam greens, sky blues, and sun-kissed yellows, letting them dance across a vast, textured white space that represents a clean slate or a fresh morning.
As I worked with my palette knife, my movements were quick and rhythmic, almost like a heartbeat. I intentionally left the composition open and flowing, as if the colors are chasing each other across the canvas. I felt a sense of liberation while creating this; I wasn't trying to capture a place, but rather the 'frolick' of the mind when it is free from worry.
