In Midnight Meadow, I wanted to capture the secret life of flowers that only reveals itself under the cover of darkness. This painting is an interpretation of the quiet energy that hums through a field at night—a time when colors become deeper, more mysterious, and infinitely more soulful. I worked with a foundation of heavy, midnight blacks and deep mossy greens, allowing the texture of the canvas to create a sense of organic wildness.
My palette knife was used with a rhythmic, staccato motion to 'plant' bursts of lavender, pale violet, and luminous white across the dark expanse. As I painted, I felt a deep sense of introspection, as if I were uncovering a hidden world. The thick, tactile impasto makes the blossoms feel as though they are vibrating against the cool night air.
