The mistral is blowing in the south of France and the wild poppies are dancing wildly in the wind.
The color, shapes, and the subtle allusions in the title, leads you through the emotional subject of the work. There is a sense of radiance as the light moves through the painting. The work feels expansive, as if growing out beyond the confines of the canvas, creating space with the drama of its bold color, strong lines, and copious markings.
I created this painting with a palette knife, using an unique technique — a surface full of small stipples of paint from the painting knife, which results in a lovely textured surface. The flowers are done impasto style. In fine art, the Italian word 'Impasto' (dough or paste) denotes a painting technique in which undiluted paint is applied so thickly (like toothpaste) onto the canvas or panel (often with a palette knife) that it stands out from the surface. This decadent surface of different textures brings the painting to life. This decadent surface of texture brings the painting to life. This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished red edges. It comes satine varnished and ready to hang.

Rolling artworks means taking the works off their stretcher bars and then packing them up to be shipped in a tube. When the artwork arrives at its destination, you simply re-stretch them with the help of a local art handler or framer. When done properly, this method is much safer for larger works. The chances of the artwork being damaged in transit are much lower.
