A Slow Awakening depicts the process as the human spirit is transformed into a spiritual awakening
I created A Slow Awakening with a painting knife using two different mark making techniques, which resulted in a lovely textured surface. Rendered in an abstract style, my floral composition captures the unique beauty and diverse color palettes exhibited by flowers.
The flowers are done impasto style, in which undiluted paint is applied thickly onto the canvas so that it stands out from the surface. This decadent surface of different textures brings the painting to life.
This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes satine varnished and ready to hang.
